A unique opportunity has arisen within the Flying Start Federation for a forward looking teacher and leader to join a small but dedicated team of professionals who are ambitious to achieve the best learning for our children.

 

We require an exciting and inspirational teacher who is looking for a challenge and opportunity to extend  expertise by taking a leading role in developing outstanding EYFS and Early Key 1 provision.

 

 We are looking for an experience and talented teacher who can deliver high quality inclusive learning experiences within EYFS and KS1 and who has a clear understanding of how young children learn successfully, the growth mind-set, and who can deliver and blend effectively child centred  led learning and adult guided.

 

We can offer you an experienced team of  Foundation Stage Practitioners and Teaching Assistants who will work alongside you, small teaching groups, friendly and polite children, a supportive staff team and Governing Body and  great continuing professional development.

 

This post will be ideal for someone with a track record of improving outcomes for children within Early Years and Key Stage One and  who would enjoy the challenge being a member of the  Federation’s senior leadership team, taking a wider leadership responsibility across both schools  supported by an experience Executive Head teacher.

 

Both schools are situated in idyllic rural surroundings with a family orientated ethos and both strive to deliver excellent opportunities for all pupils.  We are members of the Atlantic Coast Cooperative Trust which gives great opportunity for collaboration, training for staff and enrichment opportunities for children.

Whilst pay portability will be considered it is not guaranteed.  This is a main scale post with additional TLR.

Level 2 Teaching Assistant

We are looking for  a dedicated and hardworking individual who has  experience of supporting children (EYFS to Y6) in class, in small groups, 1:1 some with special educational needs.  You could be asked to work in either school so flexibility is essential as is an ability to contribute to the wider life of the school.  The hours also include lunch time supervision to spear head our change for life agenda as well as support children emotionally.

We are passionate about learning and also the health and well-being of our pupils and are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and committed person to work with both our schools to deliver our school lunches. The position will be based at Buckland Brewer, but travel between schools is essential to connect with all customers of the service.

You will be preparing meals, using fresh ingredients where possible, designing menus using the existing model menu which you will complement with fresh vegetables and fruit to create great food that pupils will want to eat. You will manage the ordering and payment of meals.

You will be required to undertake training both on and off site on an occasional basis. You will also be responsible for completing the necessary health and safety paperwork, placing orders with pre-selected suppliers and managing food stocks.

Your willingness and ability to promote healthy eating to develop our service will be an essential part of the role to help create a whole school approach to healthy eating and a "Healthy School" environment.

You will be working alongside a competent catering assistant and a team of Meal time supervisors.
