Welcome to Buckland Brewer

We are a small happy village school set in the village of Buckland Brewer, itself set in the beautiful North Devon countryside.

Visitors to our school notice how well behaved our children are… the care that they show for one another… the enjoyment that the children show for play and for learning.  People also notice the excellent provision that we have for play with our recently built adventure trail.  In November 2008 OFSTED found that “Pupils' personal development and well-being are good, as are their attitudes and behaviour. This is demonstrated in their high levels of enjoyment of school.”

School is more than fitness and fun, and we are very pleased to say that standards of learning in our school are also good.  We teach in mixed age classes that foster our values of caring for one another and also enable each child to achieve their own potential.  OFSTED also found that “Teachers relate well to pupils, and consequently pupils behave well and are keen to learn. They make pupils aware of what they are learning and why, and this contributes well towards their understanding of their work.”
